5 suspects with ties to Chicago accused in $2M Indianapolis jewelry heist

CHICAGO — Five suspects with ties to Chicago are accused of carrying out a $2 million jewelry store heist in Indianapolis before leading police on a chase along Interstate 65 earlier this month.

Two of the suspects, 16-year-old Emanuel David Gonzalez Mendez and 17-year-old Angel Jose Pinto Guerrero, are now being charged as adults in connection with the Aug. 10 robbery.

The teens were charged last week in Marion County, Indiana, with felony armed robbery, criminal confinement, resisting law enforcement and unlawful handgun possession. They are currently being held in jail without bond…
