INDIANAPOLIS — An Indy man will serve over 20 years behind bars for entering his ex-girlfriend’s home and kidnapping her, sparking a statewide Silver Alert last year.
On Thursday, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office announced that Cieyon Wheeler has been sentenced to 23 years in the Indiana Department of Correction after pleading guilty to the following charges:
- Armed Robbery (Level 3 Felony)
- Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun (Level 5 Felony)
- Intimidation (Level 5 Felony)
- Attempted Residential Entry (Level 6 Felony)
In exchange, the state dismissed felony counts for burglary with a deadly weapon and kidnapping while armed with a deadly weapon that were pending against him in the case.
According to previous reports, Wheeler and two other unidentified suspects entered his ex-girlfriend’s east side home around 3 a.m. on Aug. 8, 2025, and forced her to leave with him while armed with a handgun. During the abduction, Wheeler reportedly pointed a firearm at a friend of the victim.
