Indianapolis police arrest six drivers after reckless spinning operation on west side

Indianapolis, Indiana – A few hours of reckless driving on Indianapolis’ west side ended with six people in custody and six vehicles being towed away after a coordinated police operation Wednesday night.

What began as drivers spinning vehicles and drawing crowds quickly became a public safety concern. Police said officers saw cars blocking intersections, performing spins in parking lots and speeding dangerously close to bystanders, passengers and other motorists.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department worked alongside the Indiana State Police and Cumberland Metropolitan Police Department during the enforcement effort. Officers moved in to disperse the gatherings and ultimately stopped all six vehicles involved…
