INDIANAPOLIS – Expect lane restrictions and ramp closures on I-70 in downtown Indianapolis this week and weekend.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, the closures start Thursday and are expected to last through the weekend. The changes will allow crews to perform pavement work.
Drivers should watch for the following lane and ramp closures:
Thursday, Oct. 1 (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.)
- I-70 westbound reduced to one lane from Madison Avenue to Belmont Avenue
- Ramps from Madison Ave., Capitol Avenue, and West/Missouri Street to I-70 westbound closed
- Ramps from I-70 westbound to Madison Ave. (Exit 79B) and West/Missouri St. (Exit 79A) closed
Friday, Oct. 2 at 9 p.m. to Monday, Oct. 5 at 5 a.m.
- I-70 westbound reduced to one lane from Madison Ave. to Belmont Ave.
- Ramps from Madison Ave., Capitol Ave., West/Missouri St., and Harding Street to I-70 westbound closed
- Ramps from I-70 westbound to Madison Ave. (Exit 79B), West/Missouri St. (Exit 79A), and Harding St. (Exit 78) closed
- Ramp from I-65 northbound to I-70 westbound (Exit 110B) reduced to one lane
