Report: Burnout, Low Pay And Funding Shifts Hurting Indiana Teachers

INDIANAPOLIS – Educators in Indiana and across the nation are displeased with their jobs and some are considering a career change, according to a recent survey by the American Federation of Teachers.

One major reason cited is dissatisfaction with their salaries, with many working a second job to supplement less-than-competitive wages. Among those surveyed, 16% identified stress from extreme workload demands and a lack of administrator support as key drivers for their decision to exit the profession.
