Mother Nature Is Feeling Indecisive Again
When I think about the weather here in Southern Indiana, my first instinct is to make a joke about Mother Nature going through perimenopause. I’m afraid doing that would draw the ire of our female listeners and readers – mainly my wife! But all jokes aside, it looks like Mother Nature has another indecisive forecast planned for this weekend.
From Fall Festival Perfection to Record Heat
We were spoiled with darn near perfect weather last week during the Fall Festival. So far this week, we have near-record-high temperatures in the upper 80s and lower 90s. I say that just to compare and contrast what is forecasted to come.
The Forecast Shows a 50 Degree Drop
According to WRTV-TV meteorologist Matt Standridge and his nifty map/graphic, we could see temperatures drop as much at 50 degrees before the week is through.
“After 80s and 90s to start (record highs), expect a big front to sweep across the Ohio River Valley to bring us 30s and 40s for Saturday & Sunday morning with likely the highest chance of frost we have had yet this season. The afternoons this coming weekend may just be in the 50s for many Hoosiers.”
And if low temps in the 30s and 40s (yes, that means we could get frost) isn’t exciting enough for you, the chance for showers and thundershowers has been thrown into the mix.
