West side neighbors could do ‘cartwheels’ after IMPD shuts down illegal nightclub

INDIANAPOLIS – Neighbors along Lupine Drive on Indy’s west side said they just experienced their first quiet weekend in more than a year after police searched a home they say was operating as an illegal nightclub.

On Friday, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department found more than 1,200 bottles of beer, liquor and wine, along with drugs and documents supporting the illegal nightclub operation.

Two homeowners living near the house/illegal nightclub agreed to speak with FOX59/CBS4 anonymously. Both said they’re scared of retaliation from their neighbors.

”It is extremely frustrating,” said one longtime neighbor. “It makes me so angry.”

IMPD said the parties would start after the bars closed nearby. The illegal nightclub organizers would recruit people from the bars and encourage them to come to the house, which means parties at the house would start around 3 a.m.

”The loud music, I mean it just blares,” another neighbor said.
