Faith Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis honoring those who died during COVID-19 pandemic with new memorial

INDIANAPOLIS — On Saturday, Faith Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis unveiled a new memorial to honor those who died during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The memorial, which is located on church grounds at 8170 Hague Rd., is nine feet tall and features the names of hundreds of people who died during the COVID-19 pandemic. In total, people from eight different countries submitted names they wanted to have added to the memorial. More than 70 of the names on the memorial were submitted by Indianapolis residents.

More than 20 people worked on the memorial, and their roles ranged from designing the monument to carving and grouting tiles. Each hand-inscribed tile placed on the memorial took an hour to craft…
