Court documents: Greenfield man charged in fatal Madison County crash had meth, THC, fentanyl in his system

MADISON COUNTY, Indiana — A Greenfield man has been charged in a Madison County crash that happened in February after meth, fentanyl, THC and other drugs were found in his system at the time of the crash, according to court documents.

Cody Lee Ferrell, 35, was formally charged April 14 with the following, according to online court records:

  • Causing catastrophic injury when operating a motor vehicle with a schedule I or II controlled substance
  • Causing death when operating a motor vehicle with a schedule I or II controlled substance

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Feb. 10 in the 5000 block of State Road 67, just north of Pendleton.

Following the incident, the Madison County Sheriff’s Department said a preliminary investigation indicated a Ford SUV driven by a 35-year-old Greenfield man, later identified as Ferrell, was southbound on State Road 67 when it crossed over the center median and struck a northbound Chevy pickup truck driven by a 72-year-old Fortville man head-on…
