Indiana tightens CDL requirements, revokes licenses

INDIANAPOLIS — Gov. Mike Braun held a ceremonial signing on Monday for a bill that could reshape part of Indiana’s trucking workforce.

It includes stricter rules for truck drivers who are trying to get something called a non-domiciled CDL. That’s a commercial driver’s license issued to someone not born in the U.S. but who is here legally.

Some industry groups and immigration advocates warn the changes could make it harder to fill critical driving jobs…
