College Avenue Clucker Calls It Quits as Root & Bone Bids Indy Farewell

Root & Bone is getting ready to turn off the fryers on College Avenue. The Southern-comfort spot announced it will close its Indianapolis restaurant after six years, with final service set for June 7, 2026. In a social-media post, management urged guests to use up gift cards and merchandise credits before that date, taking one more long-running draw off the Fairgrounds/Broad Ripple dining strip.

In a message shared online, the restaurant wrote, “Closing this chapter of Root & Bone with full hearts. Thank you for the memories, celebrations, and everyday moments,” according to TheStreet. Local television coverage also picked up the story and relayed the closing timeline and gift-card reminders, per WTHR.
