The Indy Art Center’s largest fundraising event of the year is a two-day festival that brings artists, art activities, musicians and food to the center’s Broad Ripple campus, along with thousands of area residents eager to celebrate all things art.
The OneAmerica Financial Foundation Broad Ripple Art Fair runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 16 and 17, with booths, music, workshops, demonstrations and activities inside and outside the Indy Art Center, 820 E. 67th St., off College Avenue.
In past years, festival grounds included the center’s ArtsPark — an outdoor sculpture and nature space. But the park is going through a major renovation, which led to a little shuffling to find enough space for the growing festival.
“We have more artists this year, so we are going even farther into the (neighboring) park across the street,” Vice President of Events and Exhibitions Shannon Bennett said. “And then we take up all of our parking lots — every inch of space that we have that we can put something on, we do.”…
