Race fans staying optimistic as rain threatens the Indy 500

SPEEDWAY, Ind. —All eyes are on the sky ahead of the Indy 500. Rain has impacted events all month long, and threatens to do the same on Sunday.

It’s not unheard of for rain to put a wrench in race day. Two years ago, the 109th running was delayed, but was able to be completed once officials dried the track.

“(We) waited and waited, walked to the car, sat in the car for a few hours and came back and we were out of food then, but at least we got the race in,” race fan David Kucharski said…
