DALLAS, Texas — The family of 60-year-old Jose “Joey” Avila says they are grieving and searching for peace after he was killed in a violent chain of events tied to a carjacking in East Dallas.
“Honestly, there’s anger,” said his niece, Sam Sanchez. “It’s just earth-shattering.”
