JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police announced a man was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred on Liberty Street in 2025.
Police said Ahmod McDonald, 36, was transported from Dallas, Texas, to Jackson, Mississippi, on June 3, 2026, and booked into city holding. He was charged with capital murder for his role in the death of Laterrance Barnes.

McDonald made his initial appearance in court on June 3, 2026, and was denied bond.
The shooting occurred in the 3700 block of Liberty Street on October 13, 2025. Police said Barnes was shot in the head at a home.
Jackson police previously arrested two men in connection to the fatal shooting. Kentrilus D. Scott was charged with accessory before the fact on November 13, 2025, and Alan Graham was charged with capital murder on November 14, 2025.
