JACKSON — Millsaps College and the Mississippi College School of Law have partnered to create a new accelerated program that will allow qualifying students to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctor in six years instead of the traditional seven.
Leaders from both institutions signed a memorandum of understanding Monday establishing the “Pathway to Law School” initiative, anchored by a new 3+3 Accelerated Law Degree Program.
Under the agreement, eligible Millsaps students can apply to the MC School of Law after completing three-fourths of the coursework required for their bachelor’s degree. After successfully completing their first year of law school with a grade of C or better in each course, Millsaps will award the student’s bachelor’s degree.
