Terry High School band adapts to extreme heat

HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Many Mississippians are finding it more difficult to stay cool with the summer heat.

Terry High School’s marching band students are taking additional precautions to keep safe as they prepare for the upcoming school year. The “Soul of South 78” student marching band had a busy time during band camp. This year, they are working hard not just to learn music and march, but also to avoid the heat.

The band are decreasing outdoor practice sessions, taking more water breaks and spending less time in the sun to stay safe…
