JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Before the first lecture. Before the first exam. Before the first real taste of college life — Jackson State University students were already at work, feeding their city.
Hundreds of cars lined up for blocks outside Blackburn Middle School Thursday as JSU launched its bi-annual Crop Drop. Students — new and returning — distributed up to 10,000 pounds of sweet potatoes, watermelon and other fresh produce to Jackson families, completely free of charge.
