JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Construction to replace a bridge near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Maderia Avenue is back underway this week after residents said work appeared to stop for the past month.
Jackson Public Works and Hemphill Construction, the company handling the project, said work to reopen the roadway remains on schedule.
Church sits near construction site
Cornerstone MB Church, led by Rev. PJ Williams, sits next to the construction zone. The bridge was named in Williams’ honor for his work in the community.
