Four men to face sentencing in deadly shooting of rapper Julio Foolio

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Four men convicted in the murder of Jacksonville rapper Julio Foolio are scheduled to be sentenced Monday.

A jury recommended life in prison without the possibility of parole instead of the death penalty May 15.

Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy, and Rashad Murphy were found guilty one week before the jury’s recommendation in the June 2024 killing of Julio Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones.

Prosecutors said Jones was in Tampa celebrating his 26th birthday when the four men followed him to several locations before ambushing him in a hotel parking lot on McKinley Drive and opening fire.
