Tractor Tow-Truck Trick Backfires On Drunk Florida Driver

A Florida man faces driving under the influence charges after he allegedly crashed his pickup truck into a roadside ditch, fled the scene, and then returned riding a tractor to tow his own vehicle away.

Deputies with the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash in Callahan, Florida, on June 24. Upon arrival, a witness told deputies that the driver of a white pickup truck—which was lodged at an angle in a grassy ditch—had already left the scene on foot toward a nearby residence.

According to body camera footage released by law enforcement, a witness told officers at the scene, “He’s like, I’m going to hook a tractor to it and pull it out, and then I’m going to take the tractor home and come back and get the truck.”…
