Man accused of pistol-whipping woman, shooting at her before July 4 standoff with deputies in Callahan

CALLAHAN, Fla. – A man is facing attempted second-degree murder charges after Nassau County deputies said he pistol-whipped a woman, fired multiple shots at her as she fled and barricaded himself inside a Callahan home over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

The woman called 911 just after 10:30 p.m. on July 4 and said that she was with Caleb Lopez at a relative’s home in Jacksonville, according to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the woman, Lopez got into an argument with his relative and was told to leave. The two then drove to a home on Jonas Drive in Callahan…
