It may be early in the 2028 recruiting cycle. But South Carolina and head coach Shane Beamer are showing no signs of slowing down, as it continues to rack up official visits and commits for members of the class.
On Monday afternoon, 2028 five-star EDGE rusher Asher Ghioto out of elite Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla. officially put a visit on the books with the Gamecocks. In an Instagram post, Ghito confirmed that he will take visits to South Carolina among six other programs this fall. Ghito will be on-campus in Columbia on Oct. 24. That puts the elite EDGE rusher in Columbia for South Carolina’s huge home game against the Tennessee Volunteers.

Ghito is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 1 overall EDGE rusher for 2028, and the No. 3 player in his class. He’s also ranked in the same spot within the state of Florida. The Gamecocks hosted Ghito for an unofficial visit on June 11, and first offered the Bolles prospect in May of last year…
