The red tide advisory for St. Marys Inlet has been upgraded from a health caution to a health alert, the St. Marys Riverkeeper said Monday.
“This escalation means conditions have worsened and greater caution is warranted for people visiting or recreating in the area,” the Riverkeeper said in a social media post.

Red tide was previously detected by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission on Thursday.
If you see dead or distressed fish, discolored water, or unusual wildlife activity, you are asked to report it to St. Marys Riverkeeper by emailing [email protected].
