Man shot at Northwest Jacksonville motel; police still searching for suspect

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was hospitalized after being shot at a Northwest Jacksonville motel early Wednesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Officers responded to the Sunshine Inn on New Kings Road in the Magnolia Gardens area, at approximately 6:39 a.m. after reports of a shooting. A man in his mid-thirties was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

According to investigators, an unknown suspect knocked on the man’s front door. The victim opened the door, then asked the suspect to leave. The suspect walked into the parking lot and fired multiple shots toward the victim’s room. One round struck the victim in the leg…
