JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Court TV) — A Florida woman took the witness stand on Thursday as she attempted to explain what led her to kill a man with a hammer last year.

Journee McGrew, 22, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree murder and one count of tampering with evidence in the death of Waduta Woodley, 41.
Woodley’s blood-covered body was found in the stairwell at a Jacksonville apartment complex in July 2025.
