NJ man accused of forced entry into Luzerne Co home, assaulting resident during burglary

HAZLE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — A New Jersey man is facing charges after Pennsylvania State Police say he forced his way into a Luzerne County home, assaulted a resident and stole several items before fleeing.

According to a Pennsylvania State Police public information release, troopers responded around 1:39 a.m. on April 19 to a residence along Route 940 in Hazle Township.

Investigators determined a 36-year-old man from Newark, New Jersey, allegedly entered the home through a window, struck one of the occupants in the face and stole several items before leaving the scene…
