After the Storm: Thousands Still Without Power in Essex County

Thousands of New Jersey residents remained without power Friday morning after severe thunderstorms swept through the region, including nearly 6,000 customers in Essex County, according to outage tracking data. PSE&G crews continued restoration efforts as residents in Montclair and neighboring towns reported downed trees, damaged power lines and scattered outages.

The outages come as New Jersey continues to grapple with extreme heat, with a statewide warning remaining in effect through 8 p.m., raising concerns for households without power or air conditioning.
