Christopher Bruton-Frazier, 39, broke into an NJ Transit facility and snatched a $500,000 BearCat armored vehicle. He took it on a two-hour ride across several towns on Tuesday, July 14, per NJ.com and jail records.
The Maplewood resident wrecked nearly $13,000 worth of property. He crashed the 2018 Lenco BearCat into a K-9 kennel. Then a police truck. Then a garage door. This happened while he tried driving it out of the agency’s Ferry Street facility around 4 a.m., according to a criminal affidavit. Bruton-Frazier drove the armored vehicle through Irvington and Jersey City before abandoning it near Harper Avenue in Irvington.
