Citibank Plans 59 Layoffs in Hudson County This Fall

Citibank plans to lay off 59 employees in Hudson County, New Jersey. According to the company, the layoffs are set to take effect by Oct. 31, according to a WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) notice filed on Aug. 4 with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

According to a Patch of Hoboken report, this marks the third WARN notice in 2026 affecting Citibank employees in North Jersey. The company filed a prior notice in June for 68 employees in Bergen and Hudson counties. In February, it stated 141 employees would be let go between May 21 and June 14.

“We will continue to reduce our headcount globally in 2026. These changes reflect adjustments we’re making to ensure our staffing levels, locations, and expertise align with current business needs, efficiencies we have gained through technology, and progress against our Transformation work, which is nearing Citi’s target state,” stated Meaghan Gibson, a spokeswoman for the company, in a statement provided to the Patch…
