Eight people were rescued from a 62-foot vessel that began taking on water off Long Island, police announced on Friday, Aug. 14.
The Nassau County Marine Bureau responded to the vessel near Success Rock in Sands Point at 7 p.m., according to Nassau County Police. Eight passengers were aboard the boat as it took on water.
