Jersey City first responders made 69 water rescues of drivers caught in flash flooding last night, responding to 44 calls for service during peak storm hours between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
“Thank you to our first responders for helping people caught in tonight’s flash floods. Once again, Jersey City’s bravest answered the call and rescued 69 people trapped in their cars by flash flooding,” Mayor James Solomon wrote on social media last night.
“No matter when or where – the people of Jersey City Fire, Police, Public Safety, and Public Works Departments respond to keep us safe.”
