A lifeguard at a school pool in Hudson County who told police that two teenage brothers had been asked to get out of the deep end shortly before they drowned has been charged with lying to police.
The brothers – Chu Ming Zheng, 19, and Jack Jiang, 16 – drowned during an open swim session at the Lincoln Community School pool on June 8, 2022.
The lifeguard, now 37, told a detective two days after the drownings that she was in the shallow end of the pool and had gotten out to use a restroom when she heard another lifeguard telling the boys the deep end was closed…
