Prosecutor: Jersey City man, 26, charged with fatally stabbing man, 47, in Greenville

A 26-year-old Jersey City man has been charged with fatally stabbing a 47-year-old man in Greenville Sunday afternoon, the first homicide in the city in 2026, Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello announced.

At approximately 12:35 p.m. yesterday, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a stabbing on Dwight Street near Bergen Avenue, Mello said in a statement.

Responding officers located an unresponsive male – later identified as Kareem Mack, 47, of Jersey City – with multiple apparent stab wounds. He was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 1:10 p.m.

During the course of the investigation, Kyshawn Foster, 26, of Jersey City, was identified as a person of interest and later charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose…
