KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Inspection reports obtained by the News Channel 3 I-Team show there were issues with stairs at a building at the Wildwood Off Main apartment complex in 2022, nearly four years before every unit was condemned.
Kalamazoo Township Supervisor David Combs told News Channel 3 that apartment management should not have been surprised by the recent condemnations of every apartment after an inspection report showed similar issues were identified at the site in 2022.
“Frankly, I was not surprised to see that,” Combs said. “That’s what I’ve been hearing from residents, anecdotally, who I’ve been working with this whole time that have said they’ve been complaining for years.”…
