Members of the community gathered at the Shamrock Hills Golf Club in Gobles, Michigan, for the Rocker Bad Back golf outing, and we raised nearly $ 5,400 for the W. Michigan Cancer Center.
This is the most that we’ve ever been able to raise for W. Michigan Cancer Center in one event, and it was a day filled with fun, mostly perfect weather, and a whole bunch of shenanigans.

Bronson Healthcare stepped up in a big way, becoming the title sponsor for the event, along with McDonald’s Towing, which brought one of the brand-new tow trucks that literally had all the bells and whistles and put it on display in the parking lot.
Volcano Pizza was also present for the Caddyshack hole; we golfers had a chance of winning a gopher club cover and snagging an easier hole in one.
Golfers also delighted in attempting to sync their putt a little differently, tossing a giant inflatable golf ball into large solo cups for an enlarged impromptu beer pong. It was all capped off at the end of the day with trophies awarded to the winners, beach, bums, runners-up, and the team with the most strokes, all crafted by Dr. Hooks in Kalamazoo.
With every ticket that was purchased for the golf outing, money was donated to W. Michigan Cancer Center, and along with all of our sponsors, 50-50, silent auction, and other fun activities, we were able to raise nearly $5400, which will help go towards treatment and many other services provided by the center…
