Authorities: 8 law enforcement officers on leave after deadly standoff

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Eight Kalamazoo law enforcement officers have been placed on administrative leave following an hourslong standoff near Augusta this weekend that left one man dead.

Five officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety’s Metro SWAT team have been placed on leave in accordance with department policy while state police investigate the shooting, a spokesperson told News 8.

Three Kalamazoo County sheriff’s deputies have also been placed on placed on leave in connection with the incident, according to Undersheriff Michelle Greenlee.
