AUGUSTA, Mich. — A man who died after a 10-hour-long standoff in Augusta, Mich. had a history of mental health challenges, according to the Ross Township Police Department.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on East Augusta Drive Friday afternoon after a woman called 911 and told dispatchers a man pointed a gun at her.
When deputies arrived, deputies met with the suspect’s father, who told them his 36-year-old son was experiencing a mental health crisis.
