BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — In the last six months, the Battle Creek Police Department (BCPD) said they have seized nearly 70 illegal firearms from residents — many of which were under the age of 20.
Police most recently arrested a 16-year-old boy Thursday after he was allegedly found to be concealing a loaded handgun in his waistband while inside a vehicle with four other teens.
Officers were called to Greenwood Avenue and Hubbard Street for a “juvenile trouble incident” around 4 a.m. that morning, according to police. There, they said they saw a group of people inside a vehicle as well as a rifle that was in plain view.

The others in the vehicle were two 18-year-old women, a 17-year-old boy, and a 19-year-old man, all of which were detained, BCPD said. Both the handgun and the rifle were seized by police, however, authorities did not say if any additional arrests were made…
