Cultural steward: Schupan gets new CEO

Jordan Schupan has become the third generation of the Schupan family to lead the Kalamazoo, Michigan-based company of the same name. His father, Marc Schupan, who took over operations following the death of his father, Nelson Schupan, in 1974 and had served as CEO since then, will focus on supporting the leadership team in his role as chairman.

“The world’s changing, and it’s time for a fresh approach to certain things,” Marc says. “Jordan was a perfect person for this job. He’s been with us 10 years, but he had other experiences in the business world that have really helped him.”

Jordan will be responsible for maintaining the company’s culture as it continues to transition from a Midwestern scrap processor into a company with a broader national and international presence.
