BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — For six summers, Jonna Siano has used a chalkboard along Capital Avenue in Battle Creek to give drivers a simple reason to smile.
Messages like “Don’t give up,” “You’re not alone” and “Buckle up, buttercup” have become part of her summer routine.
