KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Kalamazoo are investigating a series of small fires that broke out across the city overnight and early Saturday morning.
Over a six-hour period late Friday night into early Saturday morning, members of the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to five small fires across the northeast side of the city, the department said in a release. They are being investigated as possible acts of arson.
Officers responded to a trash can fire near the intersection of N. Burdick Street and E. North Street around 9:30 p.m., followed by a porta potty fire near Oxford Street and Mt. Olivet Road around 10:40 p.m. Minutes later, crews were dispatched to a fence fire near the intersection of S. Riverview Drive and East Paterson Street.
