ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI — A new tip in Brittany Shank’s disappearance has pushed an eight-year missing-person case back into the spotlight in St. Joseph County. Deputies and FBI agents went to a property in Leonidas Township after receiving information this week, and investigators uncovered a buried shipping container.
Jessica Hursley, Shank’s mother, said the case has meant years of unanswered questions and sleepless nights. She said the renewed attention matters because her daughter has been “very much missed” and “very much loved.”
Authorities have not said whether the container or the items taken from it are connected to Shank, but the search has revived hope that new leads could finally move the investigation forward.
