The NWS has some safety tips for driving through fog. It’s important to drive slow and to give yourself extra time to get to where you’re going.

You should use your low-beam headlights so other drivers can so you, but don’t use your high-beams, as they can cause a glare. Leave extra space between your car and the one in front of you, and watch road lanes to make sure you’re staying in your lane.

The NWS cautions that in times when visibility is near zero due to dense fog, you should turn on your hazard lights and pull into a parking lot if possible, or to the side of the road as far as you can. If you do pull off to the side of the road, turn off your other lights and turn on your emergency brake.
