Deputies: 1 shot, 1 stabbed in Lee Township

LEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say they’re still looking for a person of interest Tuesday after one person was stabbed and another was shot in Lee Township.

A 26-year-old man arrived at the hospital with multiple stab wounds, according to Allegan County Sheriff Frank Baker. Not long after, he said another person, age 29, arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound.

Both victims had been at a home in Lee Township south of Pullman when “an altercation ensued” and the first person was stabbed, the sheriff’s office said.

“I don’t really have the details surrounding what transpired to begin this altercation but obviously it ended with one subject being stabbed and one being shot,” Baker said.

The person who had been stabbed was taken to the hospital by car. But as the car left the scene, deputies say one of the vehicle’s passengers shot a person who was outside.

Both victims remain hospitalized in stable condition, deputies say. The person who was shot was in critical condition as of Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. but is expected to survive, Baker was told.
