KALAMAZOO, MI — Construction will start soon on a 48-unit affordable housing development for people in drug recovery.
Local and state official gathered to break ground at 333 E. Alcott St. where the complex will be constructed, on Tuesday, April 14. The building is located on a former brownfield site and is in close proximity to the Kalamazoo County Health Department, Kalamazoo County Community Services and Family Health Center.
Prospective residents will be referred by the Kalamazoo County Drug Treatment Court. At the complex, residents will be able to live with their families and have access to group therapy, workforce development and criminal case management…
