KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City bus riders will have to pay to ride starting Monday, ending six years of free transit — but relief for those who can’t afford the fares may not arrive in time.
A single ride will cost $2. Monthly passes will cost $62.50. Day and weekly passes will also be available.
KCATA and United Way are distributing 20,000 free single-day passes to more than 100 nonprofits across the metro. The first batch arrives by the end of next week.
