KANSAS CITY —A grand jury returned a true bill elevating felony charges against a Kansas City non-profit CEO in connection with a fatal shooting in south Kansas City in 2023, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson.
Na’im Al-Amin, 44, was originally charged in 2023 with 2nd Degree Murder, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He now faces 1st Degree Murder, three counts of Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, 1st Degree Kidnapping, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Tampering with Physical Evidence in a Felony Prosecution. He is charged as a prior and persistent offender.
