CLAY COUNTY — A warrant was issued in Clay County yesterday for a Kansas City man charged with armed criminal action and first-degree domestic assault.
According to the probable cause statement, Andre L. Stanley confessed to police that he assaulted the victim and took her cell phone, so they were unable to call the police because he was afraid of going to jail. The victim went to the North Kansas City Police Department to report the incident. Upon contact with the victim, law enforcement observed her covered in blood with a towel wrapped around her head. In her testimony, the victim told police that Stanley hit her on the head with an unknown object. She was then transported to North Kansas City Health and received 11 staples in her head. Police then called Stanley, who said the two had gotten into an argument and it turned physical. He claimed the victim struck him on the head with a cup, then he wrestled her to the ground and hit her with the same cup over the head three times. The victim denies ever striking Stanley…
