KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A new Family Lodge aimed at helping families experiencing homelessness is set to open soon, thanks in part to volunteers who spent the day building beds.
The lodge, once a vacant hotel, is being transformed into 45 units of transitional housing for families in need.
Restart is partnering with the nonprofit Sleep in Heavenly Peace to get rooms furnished and ready ahead of the grand opening. Organizers say the goal goes beyond opening day — they’re also working to create more pathways to stable, long-term housing for families…
